Alzchem empowers teachers: promoting science in primary schools

Alzchem empowers teachers: Promoting science in elementary schools On June 24, 2025, it was “time for experiments” for 11 trainee teachers who, together with their seminar leader Rodrigo Fernandez, visited Alzchem and BASF for a science training course.

Under the guidance of the science team Florian Ritzinger, Gerhard Litzinger (Alzchem) and Christian Huber (BASF), the prospective primary school teachers carried out various experiments on the topics of water and material properties as well as recycling. They conducted various experiments on surface tension, density and various “floating-sinking processes.” The participants were particularly impressed by the “fireworks in a glass,” which were created by combining oil, water, and ink.

"The preparation of the many topics by the team of experts is very professional and appreciative every time. I learn a lot and hope to be able to pass on my knowledge directly to my pupils," says trainee teacher Stefan Judex.

The experiments, which have been prepared for use in the classroom, offer an excellent opportunity to experiment together with students and make science understandable for children. The practical experiments, combined with the extensive theoretical background knowledge of the three speakers, inspired the participants and left them feeling motivated after the training. Many of the experiments will certainly soon be used in the classrooms of the trainee teachers.

Alzchem is delighted to support this initiative and hopes that it will help to spark and encourage an interest in science among primary school pupils.
