Award for Alzchem: Gold medal for sustainable corporate management

Trostberg, 27 March 2023 – Corporate social responsibility is in everyone's mind and is also an essential part of business for Alzchem Group AG. The company, headquartered in Trostberg an der Alz, successfully went through an independent CSR rating by EcoVadis, the world's largest provider of sustainability ratings for companies, in 2023 and improved on its performance in 2022. In recognition of its sustainability success, the company was once again awarded the gold medal, which confirms Alzchem's responsible approach to people and the environment.

The EcoVadis methodology is based on international sustainability standards (Global Reporting Initiative, United Nations Global Compact, ISO 26000) and is monitored by a scientific panel of CSR and supply chain experts to produce reliable CSR ratings. Corporate activities in the areas of environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement are assessed.

With 77 out of 100 possible points, Alzchem is among the top two percent of companies worldwide in the field of basic chemical manufacturing assessed by EcoVadis, underscoring its commitment to sustainable, corporate action as well as its social responsibility. Among the various ESG topics, Alzchem achieved an almost perfect score for environmental issues. The company also improved again on labor and human rights. The areas of ethics and sustainable procurement confirmed its already very high score.

Dr. Georg Weichselbaumer, CSO of Alzchem Group AG: "Companies that act agile in the area of sustainability are poised for the future. We are proud that EcoVadis has once again confirmed this by awarding us the Gold Medal. Compared to 2022, we were even able to improve by a whole seven points. This result assures us that we are constantly improving for the benefit of our employees, customers and partners and that we are meeting the requirements of the future in the best possible way."
