CO2 reduction of Eminex® confirmed by further study - an innovative product from Alzchem

Methane and CO2 emissions from manure can be eliminated. In view of the current price explosion for mineral fertilizers, Eminex® as an innovative product in Alzchem's portfolio offers an effective approach to significantly reduce methane and CO2 emissions during slurry storage and thus significantly improves the environmental impact and image of slurry. This is confirmed by the results of a study conducted at the University of Bonn, which was presented on the occasion of the DLG Field Days 2022.

Eminex® proves its worth

Field applications have already shown convincing results in the recent months. In a study conducted by the University of Bonn, the solid effect of Eminex® has been confirmed once again. In addition to a significant reduction of methane and CO2 emissions by 82 to 100 percent over 182 days, a significant reduction in nitrous oxide emissions was also determined over the whole storage period.

In addition to the emissions also the pH value of the slurry was measured over the storage period. As an additional positive effect, it was demonstrated that the slurry treated with Eminex® developed a lower pH value during long-term storage. This reduces the risk of gaseous nitrogen losses from the slurry in form of ammonia and additionally enhances the fertilising value of the liquid manure.

"Our new product Eminex® suppresses methane and CO2 emissions during slurry storage, thus helping to avoid emissions that are harmful to the climate. In addition, this additive stops the formation of foam and floating layer, ensures a more homogeneous slurry, better flowability and, moreover, increases the fertilizing effect of the slurry. In view of the climate debate and the current supply and price situation for mineral fertilizers, this is an extremely effective approach for farmers to significantly improve the use and image of liquid manure as a valuable nutrient supplier," says Benedikt Kappelsberger of Alzchem.
