Trostberg/Laufen. AlzChem AG will be hosting the scientific conference “Creatine in Health, Sport & Medicine 2015“ in Laufen, kicking off on April 21 and finishing on April 24. The event will focus on all aspects of the basic function of creatine in the body and its many and diverse applications in sport, health and medicine. With the active support of professors Theo Wallimann, formerly of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, and Roger Harris, formerly of the University of Chichester, a program has been put together that is rich and varied in content, featuring lots of talks, presentations and posters from scientists from all over the world. More than 80 international participants will spend three and a half days together at Kapuzinerhof in Laufen discussing in-depth everything creatine-related. The last creatine conference took place in 2010 in Cambridge, Great Britain. At that time AlzChem was invited as a guest, acting as the main sponsor with its Creapure® brand.

Creatine in the human body
Creatine is a natural substance produced by the body and occurring in every human cell. It plays an important role in energy metabolism. How does creatine work? The human body has sources of instant energy that it can tap into within seconds to obtain the energy it needs. However, this store of instant energy sources is limited, and quickly gets used up. AlzChem Creapure® is a pure creatine monohydrate and helps the energy store to fill up so that more instant energy is available.
