As a major world producer of the starting material, dicyandiamide, AlzChem can offer guanidine salts with a wide range of applications from the automotive to the biopharmaceutical industry:

Guanidine Nitrate is a key ingredient for the manufacture of propellants for airbags. It is also used in fireworks and is the starting material for captive production of Nitro Guanidine.

Technical Guanidine Hydrochloride, Guanidine Phosphate and Guanidine Sulfamate have applications as flame retardants for textiles and wood, as well as for electroplating.

Ultrapure Guanidine Carbonate has application in the cosmetics field.

Due to their chaotropic character both ultrapure Guanidine Hydrochloride and Guanidine Thiocyanate are used as protein denaturants in the development and production of biopharmaceuticals and their generic versions called biosimilars. In addition, they are useful for the extraction of DNA and RNA in molecular diagnostics.
