A benefit concert befitting a wider audienceGendorf works brass orchestra at the Postsaal Trostberg. The enjoyment was written large on the faces of the audience – what a wonderful concert this had been! A rousing series of pieces selected from the best of brass music took the audience on a charming and variety-packed journey through the world of classical music along with fairy tale and film music. The cultural office of the town of Trostberg and AlzChem AG organized the benefit concert in a joint project in aid of the Trostberg Music School.
The concert program kicked off with two pieces by the contemporary composer Thomas Doss: “Galileo”“ and “Die Legende von der weissen Jungfrau zur Kugelsburg” (the legend of the white maiden of the Kugelsburg)”, a colorful musical presentation. Alois Schuster and Christian Bachmaier performed brilliantly as soloists in the classical concert for two trumpets by Vivaldi. The orchestra also took on challenging film music such as “Star Wars” and “Beauty and the Beast”, pieces which fired the imagination. Other highlights included The “Huckleberry Finn Suite” and “Indian Fire”. At the end the audience was rewarded with three encores, which only added to their enjoyment. And they certainly got their money’s worth when the percussionists performed as virtuoso soloists on the “Königstrommler” (royal drummers). Then lending a humorous note to the repertoire came “The Pink Panther meets the Flintstones”. The orchestra bade farewell with an energetic march, the “Ad Astra per Aspera”. When the performance was over AlzChem director Ulli Seibel handed over a check for € 1,500 to the music school head Hans Bruckner and mayor Karl Schleid in aid of talented music school pupils.
