Product Group: Dicyandiamide (cyanoguanidine)

AlzChem offers a competence, accumulated over many years, of experience in the field of Dicyandiamide (DCD).
This applies not only to the production process, which today probably represents the cleanest and most pollution-free process world-wide, but also to the scale of production, namely, more than 20,000 t per year. More specifically, AlzChem has further developed DCD over the years and made it a versatile and diversified product.

The big advantage of DCD is that it is extremely reactive, but nevertheless is not hazardous.

Because of this DCD is used in a wide variety of applications. DCD is used, on one hand, as a synthetic component for the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API' s) and, on the other, as an outstanding hardener, in hot-hardening epoxy industrial applications. An additional wide field of application for DCD is its use as a raw material in forward-integrated intermediate products, for the production of the most diverse guanidine salts, guanamine and DCD- based condensation products. These are used in water treatments, flame retardants, textiles and leather and in pulp and paper.
